Pastor A's Thought of the Day

  • Don't lose your heart

"Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary." Galatians 6:9

Lose your heart, lose your prize.

  • Find God's heart and you will know His will

In Acts 13:22 God said the following concerning David; "I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after My heart, who will do all My will."

God was confident that David would find and do His will because he pursued God's heart. Remember this; God is under no obligation to give you success in anything that is not His will. So make it your primary focus daily to pursue and find God's heart, and you will know what is most important to Him.

  • You can't get rich quick, but you can give rich

Proverbs 11:25 says, "The generous man will be prosperous, and he who waters will himself be watered."

In Mark12:43 Jesus commented on a widow's offering by saying "Truly I say to you, this poor widow put in more than all the contributors to the treasury."

Being rich has nothing to do with what you have, but rather what you give away.

  • It's OK to stumble, but you don't have to fall.

Psalm 37:23, 24 says "The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in Him; thou he may stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with His hand."

Just make sure you never let go of His hand.

  • What is your "it"?

Psalm 37:5 says "Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, and He will do it."

What is the "it" you desire God to do in your life? Be clear on what "it" is; commit your plans and trust Him to make "it" happen!

  • One Thing

Psalm 27:4      One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to inquire in His temple.”

Phil. 3:13    “Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead,”

Luke 10:42      Jesus said "But one thing is necessary, for Mary has chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her."

Make sure you don't get so distracted that you lose sight of the One Thing.

  • More than...

Romans 8:37 says that we are "more than" conquerors. Whatever you are facing today; whatever the task; whatever the test; you got this, because God has you!

  • He will do it!

Psalm 37:5 says "Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, and He will do it."

Committing your way means to get out of God's way so that He can work on your behalf.

  • Someone's Following You

    Psalm 23:6

  • Stop Leaning!

Proverbs 3:5 says to "Lean not to your own understanding." If you feel a little off balance, stop trying to figure everything out and trust that God will work everything out for your good.

  • There's a Savior for That

Whatever challenges you are facing today, there's a Savior for that. Just make sure you have downloaded His app.

  • When you don't hear God speaking...

When you don't hear God speaking, it could mean that you're in the midst of a test. Remember, during a test the teacher is usually silent.

  • Don't be afraid of the dark

Sometimes darkness and obscurity are a part of God's plan. Think about it. Some of the most beautiful things come out of a season of darkness. When you have a dark season, know that God does some of His best work in the dark, and when you come out, you will be much better for it.

  • Seek Him Early

Psalm 63:1 says "Oh God, You are my God; early will I see You". You can definitely take that literally, which means to get up early in the morning and seek God in prayer. But you can also take it to mean "early" in a situation or circumstance. Don't wait until a situation gets out of hand. Seek God early or first in every project or opportunity that arises.

  • You don't have to ask for everything.

Matthew 6:33 tells us that the things we need are simply "added" or given to us when we seek and put God first.  Psalm 37:4 says that God gives us the desires of our heart when we delight in Him. Hebrews 11:6 says that God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. These are just a few scriptures of many that prove that when we make Christ the central focus of our lives we don't have to ask Him for as much.

  • How is your Spiritual Work Ethic?

The #1 contributing factor in how successful a person is in their field is their work ethic. Whether in business, sports, entertainment, medicine, you name it, those who reach the pinnacle of success do so as a result of a strong work ethic that goes beyond average. So, how is your spiritual work ethic?

  • The purpose of obstacles

Obstacles are sometimes put in our way to see if we REALLY want to reach our goals or if we just thought we did.

  • Make Some Noise!

Psalm 100:1 says "Make a joyful noise unto the Lord all ye lands."

Make your life a joyful noise. Use the gifts God has placed within you to raise the volume of Christ in the world! Your gifts and talents are your noise. So make some noise for the Lord!

  • The God of more than enough

God doesn't want you living from pay check to pay check, but rather from glory to glory.

  • Dream BIG!!

Your dreams are God's way of reminding you that you are His child.
